Die drei Kinder im Herrengarten

Marfa von Sacher-Masoch remembers her childhood as the daughter of the writer Leopold von Sacher-Masoch and his second wife, the teacher Hulda Meister. Marfa and her siblings Olga and Ramón grow up on an idyllic estate in Hesse. The parents use the natural curiosity of their three children to teach and educate them as if by chance. They experience a comprehensive education that does not require a cane at all. With this lively account of a reform education, the author also paints a completely new picture of her famous father.
