Die Christologie des Hilarius von Poitiers

Luis F. Ladaria SJ, born in 1944 in Manacor (Mallorca), entered the Society of Jesus in 1966. After studying in Madrid, Frankfurt, and Rome, he earned his doctorate in 1975 from the Pontifical Gregorian University with a dissertation on the Holy Spirit in Hilary of Poitiers. He taught dogmatics at the Pontifical University Comillas in Madrid and at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, where he served as vice-rector. Benedict XVI appointed him Secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in 2008, the same year he received episcopal ordination. Pope Francis appointed him Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in 2017 and included him in the College of Cardinals in 2018.

In addition, he has translated works of Hilary of Poitiers into Spanish. His translations of the commentary on Matthew and Hilary's work on the Trinity have been published in bilingual editions.
