In Victorian London, a young lady takes up the scalpel - but her skills must remain a secret.

London 1845. After the early death of her parents, Nora Beady grows up in the home of the eccentric surgeon Dr. Horace Croft. While other young ladies engage in needlework and polite conversation, Nora assists Dr. Croft with his surgeries and creates anatomical sketches. However, when Dr. Croft hires the young doctor Daniel Gibson, she must hide her knowledge from him. But Nora is not at all pleased with the role of a proper lady, and one night she takes up the scalpel once more. Daniel catches her at the dissection table, torn between horror and secret admiration.
