Easter 1342, an English coastal village is attacked by foreign ships, led by a black knight. The entire place quickly goes up in flames. A relic is stolen from the church, the lance of Saint George. As one of the few survivors, the son of the vicar learns in his dying moments that the man in black is a relative. Thomas vows to avenge the atrocity. However, the enemy apparently possesses an incredibly powerful weapon: the Holy Grail.
