Die Berlinreise

The second travel diary of the young Hanns-Josef Ortheil. In the early sixties, Hanns-Josef Ortheil traveled to divided post-war Berlin with his father. It is a journey back to the places where his father and mother lived as a young couple during World War II. Patiently and fascinated, he listens to his father recounting life back then. Instinctively, he understands the significance Berlin held for his small family and still holds for him. Day by day, the just twelve-year-old boy notes and writes, yearning for a connection to this world.
