Die Bedeutung von IKT für den Dienstleistungsverkehr von KMU

The service transport is particularly relevant in urban areas, but in the past, it has often been neglected by academia in favor of freight and passenger transport. However, due to the shift towards a service-oriented society and the increasing importance of transport costs, the significance of service transport is expected to grow. Based on selected expert interviews and statistical analyses of the DLR dataset "Service Transport 2007," the book explores whether the use of modern information and communication technologies (ICT) enables medium-sized enterprises to reduce their trips and, consequently, traffic in general through the implementation of three technologies. The book is aimed at companies with the goal of shedding light on the role of ICT in making transport more efficient.
