Product details

This work provides site managers and all others with responsibility on the construction site with the knowledge they need to do everything right on site. The focus is on direct practical relevance and years of experience from site manager training courses are passed on. It is primarily aimed at practitioners, from one-man operations to public limited companies. It is also ideally suited as an introduction to construction law for lawyers. The author first presents the basics of the BGB and the VOB and explains the relationship between these regulations. Then the important instruments of raising concerns and obstructing construction are discussed. This is followed by the issues of invoicing, focussing on supplements and termination. The change in quantity, forms of acceptance, preservation of evidence and the enforcement and safeguarding of claims are explained. The book concludes with the warranty as well as the partial and final invoice. This 9th edition again takes into account a number of new supreme court decisions relating to construction law. One example is an important BGH ruling from 2023, which found that termination due to defective performance, which was provided for in the VOB, unreasonably disadvantaged the contractor. The construction industry is also struggling with a massive increase in construction costs. The author shows the reader how to deal with these cost increases. As usual, all sample letters listed in the book are also available digitally for download.
