Product details
Lujo Brentano, the brother of philosopher and psychologist Franz Brentano, was regarded as a chair socialist and reformer. He was a founding member of the Association for Social Policy and published numerous writings on economic and social policy. In the present work, he focuses on workers' insurance. The book is divided into three parts. In the first part, he examines the relationship between the labor system and the support system, which he considers to be of central importance. The second part addresses the extent to which the then-existing workers' insurance aligns with the principles and demands of the economic order of the time. Brentano particularly investigates the workers' aid funds of that era, such as the association health insurance funds. In the concluding third part, Brentano attempts to determine what type of workers' insurance is most suitable for the prevailing economic order of the time and which workers' insurance can eliminate existential uncertainty from the lives of workers.
