Drawing on systemic therapy with the inner family and sensorimotor psychotherapy, Janina Fisher explains how traumatized clients can learn in therapy to recognize and appreciate their self-parts. When these are perceived and considered alongside their needs, the risk of automatic defense and reaction patterns is reduced. The concept of secure attachment is applied to the inner psychological relationships between self-parts. This paves the way for healing.
