Product details
The legendary war reporter and writer Martha Gellhorn wrote several reports about Israel in the 1960s in which she wanted to get to the bottom of the endless "Palestine problem". Martha Gellhorn knew early on from her persecuted father why the Jews needed a home. Even more incisive was her journey through defeated Germany, where she only encountered victims but no perpetrators, but also her visit to the Eichmann trial in Jerusalem in 1963. Two years earlier, she visited several Palestinian refugee camps and spoke to many of them about their suffering and expulsion. She was mainly confronted with propaganda from the Palestinian leaders. Even then, Gellhorn observed that they received "enough money" to "finance the education of two generations of young Palestinians". Instead, two generations were trained in the use of "weapons and explosives" in pursuit of the futile goal of "Palestine for the Palestinians".
