Die Akzeptanz von Schutzgebieten in Südostasien

The implementation and management of nature conservation areas often takes place from the outside and is associated with measures and restrictions that directly affect the living conditions of people settling in the area. This seems particularly precarious in a region such as Southeast Asia, where extraordinary biodiversity is confronted with intense demographic and economic dynamics. How does the local population react to this? The aim of the qualitative meta-analysis described in this book was to examine the corresponding acceptance factors. For this purpose, 16 regional individual case studies on the topic of protected area management were subjected to a computer-assisted text interpretation based on content analysis. The results of the analysis confirm the relevance of generally known factors from this complex of topics, such as information, communication, participation and the subsequent development of the protected area management.
