Product details
The journalist Rudolf Lebius (1868 - 1946) was an arch-enemy of Karl May, with whom he fought dozens of civil and criminal cases. He repeatedly called for the murder of Albert Einstein, whom he considered a traitor to his country, wanted to have French occupation soldiers poisoned with plague and cholera germs, and was massively critical of the rulers of the Nazi regime, which landed him behind bars in 1937. His eventful life offered numerous scandals and disputes before various courts, in the Reichstag and in the press. This biography traces the footsteps of this often enigmatic journalist and attempts to sketch the picture of an extremely moody, sensitive and basically amoral person who quarreled with many protagonists of contemporary history (including Theodor Heuss and Arthur Schnitzler) and gained the motivation for his journalistic and political agitations from these clashes. With a foreword by Prof. Dr. Albrecht Götz von Olenhusen.
