Die Abenteuer des Odysseus

Homer's Odyssey is one of the central texts of Western culture. The myth-laden events, driven to ever new dramatic heights from the prehistory of the Trojan War to the happy ending of Odysseus' long journey, are told by Dimiter Inkiow in an exciting, vivid, and comprehensible manner.

It is Odysseus who decides the Trojan War with a brilliant yet cruel idea. Inside the belly of the Trojan Horse, the Greek attackers enter the city and kill many defenseless Trojans, disregarding the sanctuary of the temple. For this, Odysseus is cursed by the council of the gods: he must atone for the sins of his warriors through long suffering.

After ten years of war, it will take another ten years for Odysseus to return to his wife and son. However, before that, he must escape the cave of the Cyclops with great courage and skill, resist the beautiful song of the Sirens, outsmart the six-headed monster Scylla, and face many more adventures and trials. Of course, he cannot do this without divine assistance.
