The book aims to describe the development of a strategy for conducting the mandatory tightness testing of property drainage systems. It will sufficiently consider the legal requirements and the state of the art to establish the boundaries within which the wastewater disposal obligation must act. Various models will be developed that meet the needs of the public and individual property owners. Detailed requirements will be set for the actual testing procedure to ensure equal treatment of all customers. Additionally, possible and permissible remediation options will be presented, and a sensible and practical documentation and archiving of the test results will be discussed. Finally, a concluding assessment will weigh the strengths and weaknesses of this strategy against each other. This book addresses tightness testing in general, but the focus of all considerations is on the task of the Ostholstein Association in the Malente water protection area.
