Product details

Development means liberation: This is the credo of the Bern Declaration (EvB), an independent development policy organization that has largely been funded by membership contributions and continues to operate on a grassroots democratic basis. Since 1968, it has worked with great expertise for a better understanding of the poor countries of the South, for fair trade relations, sustainable development, and global biodiversity. But how did the EvB come into being and who founded it? Who was behind it and who got it started? What motivated the people who advocated for development policy in the 1950s and 1960s? Anne-Marie Holenstein and Regula Renschler, together with Rudolf Strahm, formed the team of the EvB that laid the foundation for a unique success story. The two women shaped the organization well into the 1980s.
