In our family, there is an enthusiastic train fan. This has led to the creation of the present book. Train enthusiasts are nothing new. One of the first trainspotters was 14-year-old Fanny Gordon, who recorded the names of the locomotives passing through Westbourne Park station of the Great Western Railway in 1861. One of the many activities of train enthusiasts is to photograph them, and part of the fun is sharing the photos. Another joy is sitting down with a book or magazine filled with images and information about trains to read or browse through. This little book was compiled at the request of the family train fan to look at pictures of German subways. We take this opportunity and hope that the reader will enjoy our selection of photos.
