Deutsche Syntax

This textbook introduces the basic concepts and methods of syntactic analysis in German. It deals with syntactic categories and functions, valency and argument structure, the forms of the passive voice, word order, the structure of complex sentences, special features in the use of pronouns and basic concepts of information structure. Each chapter contains exercises with solutions and tips for further reading, giving students the opportunity to work through the material largely independently.
