Current guidelines for DRG coding in the inpatient sector The self-governing partners (German Hospital Federation, leading associations of statutory health insurance funds and the Association of Private Health Insurance Funds) and the Institute for the Hospital Remuneration System (InEK gGmbH) have adapted the German Coding Guidelines (DKG) for the year 2023. The comprehensive revision serves to streamline the coding guidelines in the sense of limiting them to the matters to be expressly regulated by the DKR. The changes compared to the previous edition are marked with a margin line on the side. The following adaptations are made: - Condensation and deletion of numerous DKR to avoid redundancies in content - Labelling of changes to the previous version - Clarification on specific case constellations - Editorial revision - Adaptation to the ICD-10-GM version 2023 and the OPS version 2023 as well as the G-DRG classification version 2023 The 2023 editions of the coding works are produced in a climate-neutral way. CO2 emissions cannot be avoided in book production. However, thanks to our partner First Climate, we are able to offset our unavoidable CO2 emissions. This is achieved by supporting high-quality and independently verified climate protection projects with the highest social and ecological added value.
