This unique collection of German-language poetry by women has long become a standard work. It is not intended as a canon, but as an informed representation of poetic talent and as a history of women's self-assertion. For the expanded new edition, the editor has supplemented her anthology with the literary developments of the last three decades and has revised the accompanying texts. In chronological order, the poems range from the life account of Elisabeth of Brunswick-Lüneburg to texts by Karin Kiwus, Zehra Çırak, and Nora Gomringer.
