Deutsch als Zweitsprache - erwerben, lernen und lehren

Children and adolescents acquiring German as a second language have been the focus of various research activities for several years. However, there are only isolated findings regarding specific areas of acquisition, the acquisition of German as a second language by adolescent learners, specific acquisition contexts, or subject-related language competencies. This anthology reflects the current state of research and provides insights into the acquisition of the German language from kindergarten to secondary school. It presents a variety of research methodological approaches and offers empirically derived language didactic recommendations on the following topics: consideration of the family language, subject-specific reading and writing, vocabulary work, and methodological aspects of language support. Another focus of the volume is studies on the professional competence of educational professionals.
