Deutsch als Fremdsprache für Juristen

For German courses aimed at foreign students of law and legal professionals, there is a lack of suitable teaching materials. In response to this gap, the authors present a textbook that can be used in courses but is also suitable for self-study. Starting from legal background knowledge about the principles of the BGB (German Civil Code) and the court structure in Germany, the book explores essential elements of the BGB, such as contract formation, legal capacity, representation, and contestation. The language exercises are integrated into the context of the subject matter. Grammar is taught functionally, meaning as the linguistic carrier of the legislator's intent. Each chapter includes both factual and linguistic applications to legal cases. In a comprehensive appendix, instructors receive guidance on possible solutions.
