Designing with color, shape and writing

Textbook for teaching important design skills. Main chapters: technical drawing, scripture, ornamentation, colour theory, colour application. The first main chapter, Technical Drawing, covers the basics for understanding technical drawings in all professional areas important to designers. The main chapter on type describes the developmental stages of the typeface and shows how it can be used on objects (e.g. buildings, vehicles). In ornamentation, basic orders, design techniques and compositions are shown for forms that are to be produced by the designer. In the main chapter on colour theory, the essence of colours is placed in the foreground and it is explained how to apply them to objects. In the final main chapter on the application of colours, the basic rules for the colouring and design possibilities of interiors, facades, advertising materials and decors are explained.
