Product details
The Marxist theorist and historian Karl Kautsky (1854-1938) was friends with Marx and Engels and, alongside August Bebel, was one of the leading figures of Social Democracy in the German Empire. During World War I, he founded the USPD in protest against the SPD's war policy, but returned to the SPD during the Weimar Republic. In his book 'The Origin of Christianity,' he presents a broad and detailed panorama of the state and society in the Roman early imperial era, as well as the religious and material conditions that led to the emergence of early Christianity. This is a reprint of the original edition published in Stuttgart in 1908.
