Der Triumph der Geraldine Gull

At the edge of Hudson Bay, between the tree line and the perpetual ice, lies lost and forgotten the Indian village of Niska. Here Willa Coyle, the young art teacher, is supposed to give drawing lessons to the children during the summer months. Little by little Willa penetrates into the secrets of the village. It is constantly threatened by floods, a curse seems to be upon it. Geraldine Gull, the giant, untamable Indian woman, who is shunned by everyone, guards a secret treasure. What mysteries lie over her past? What is she up to? When the flood comes and the village sinks, it is she who finally breaks the spell with her vision.
