Since its founding in 777, the Benedictine Abbey of Kremsmünster has been the spiritual and economic center of the region. Since its inception, numerous treasures have been brought to the monastery or created for it. The most famous and valuable of these is the chalice commissioned by Duke Tassilo and his wife Liutpirc in the late 8th century. This marks the beginning of a series that presents the artistic treasures of the monastery in a convenient format to a wider audience.
