Product details
The stony path of water is a visual journey from the glacier. Screaming, splashing, or gurgling, the water flows and falls over sandbanks, lakes, waterfalls, and through gorges, all the way to the vibrant chaos of the torrent. This wet journey takes us from airy expanses to the close and small, while the poet Hermann Hesse invites the viewer to partake in their own life journey. "Soft is stronger than hard, water stronger than rock, love stronger than violence." Quote by Hermann Hesse, reading for minutes.
About the authors: Romano Pedetti (1958) – Photographer, lives in Scheid in Domleschg and in Methoni, Greece. In the early 1980s, he received a two-eyed Ikoflex. This heirloom was meant to pave his self-taught path to becoming a freelance photographer. He soon worked for various institutions. For the book and magazine publisher Terra Grischuna, he served for a long time as the in-house photographer and became known for his sensitive landscape photographs. Today, he follows his own photographic path. During the creation of this picture book, he often sat by the river with a cheerful little fire, drawing inspiration from the motifs of water and stone, and thus vividly visualizing the statements of Hermann Hesse.
Mark Amstutz (1961) – Text, lives in Lunden in Prättigau. He studied theology and philosophy and, after a stint in church work, collaborated with his wife in the care of the disabled and elderly. He was drawn to impressionistic painting early on and is now active as a portrait and figure painter, among other things. Since 1987, he has regularly held exhibitions. As a friend of classical literature and particularly an enthusiastic reader of Hermann Hesse, he has engaged deeply with his work.
