Franz Jung, born in 1888 in Neisse/Upper Silesia and died in 1963 in Stuttgart, was a stock market journalist, bohemian, expressionist, economic analyst, and revolutionary activist. He was a contributor to Franz Pfemfert's 'Aktion' and the Malik publishing house, author of expressionist and socially critical novels and stories, wrote plays for Piscator, and was a co-initiator of the Dada movement. He participated in the revolutionary struggles after 1918 and in the hijacking of a ship to Russia. In the early Soviet Union, he worked as an organizer of hunger relief and in the economic sector. After 1933, he was arrested by the Nazis and worked illegally in Geneva, Vienna, and Budapest. In 1944, he fled to Italy. In 1947, he emigrated to the USA, where he worked as an economic journalist in New York and San Francisco. In the late 1950s, he returned to Europe. From 1981 to 1996, the fourteen-volume collected works edition was published by Edition Nautilus, along with several individual volumes, including the autobiography "The Way Down."

Hanna Mittelstädt, born in 1951 in Hamburg, where she still lives, is a co-founder and co-director of Edition Nautilus for 45 years. She is an editor, publisher, co-translator from French, and author of numerous books. After leaving the publishing house in 2016, she worked on various projects related to the publishing house (Franz Jung, Arthur Cravan, Francis Picabia, Emma Goldman).

Wolfgang Bortlik, born in 1952, is an author, critic, translator, and musician. He wrote columns and sports poems, satires, and reviews. He also published several novels and CDs featuring word and music.
