Der spanische Rosenstock

Before embarking on a long journey, the poet Fabeck meets his girlfriend Christine one last time. Like every evening, the two of them climb a mountain, and while the people down in the valley go to bed, Christine asks her friend for a story. They sit in front of a small stone temple, and Fabeck begins to tell the tale of a couple who must say goodbye and of an enchanted Spanish rose bush that begins to wilt one day.
