In the Rocky Mountains lies Silver Lake, which is believed to have rich silver deposits, as Old Firehand hopes. However, his journey there is not a leisurely one: among the dubious characters aboard the paddle steamer Dogfish are a strange Aunt Droll and the villain Cornel Brinkley, leader of a gang of tramps, who possesses a treasure map. With so many oddballs around, adventures are sure to follow. And then Winnetou and Old Shatterhand also come into play. Chief Big Wolf has captured Westerners and threatens to torture them to death.
