The workbook provides students from grade 4 with a concept that helps them avoid most sources of error. Spelling strategies are practiced consistently. The Buschmann method and its further developed FRESCH method are based on a strategy-driven support concept that can be easily implemented by both teachers and parents. Initially, rhythmic speaking is the focus. In the next step, strategies such as syllabic writing, extending, derivations, and mnemonic training are practiced based on individual spelling problems. The spelling exercises start with phonetic words. Depending on the exercise unit, applications for extending and deriving are included. As grade 4 progresses, less phonetic words are used, leading to mnemonic training. At the end of each unit, the learned strategies are applied in a motivating context.
