Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and Consuelo Suncín Sandoval de Gómez met in 1930 in Buenos Aires and fell in love instantly. Shortly thereafter, they married. Despite their deep connection and love, their marriage soon turned into a chaotic journey. The adventurous Tonio, unpredictable and demanding, expected stability from his wife, not to mention undivided attention. Both of these expectations clashed with Consuelo's free-spirited and somewhat rebellious nature.

There were periods of separation, yet they remained connected to each other. In their unwavering love, they endured distance and fear when Antoine entered military service for the second time.

In their 160 letters, illustrated in this volume with 50 colored documents, the spirit of this very special relationship is revealed through storms and pauses, doubts and tears, disappointments and celebrations. Additional letters were exchanged during World War II, when Saint-Exupéry also wrote his Little Prince—a fable that at its core tells the story of Antoine and Consuelo.
