This book introduces a paradigm shift in nursing: with the 4-phase model, nursing finally receives the appropriate recognition and a contemporary structure. It is the nursing staff who do the main work. Every facility in elderly care can utilize the 4-phase model. It is based on the AEDL, nursing histories, and the usual care planning. However, it incorporates new forms such as daily care plans and care reports. Instead of laboriously documenting complex services, this model only records deviations. This simplifies the writing workload and allows for quick responses to changes in care. Both staff and residents are more satisfied. The new model also withstands inspections by the MDK or care supervision.
