At the Friedrichstadt-Palast, the morbid state politics are of no concern. Here, the grand show anniversary is being prepared as the highlight of the 40th anniversary of the GDR. It’s all about peak performances for the dancers, musicians, direction, and technical crew. Christine Steffen, a dancer in the famous girl troupe, is finally going to get her long-awaited first solo. In these exciting hours, which are set to give Christine's career a decisive turn, she suddenly comes face to face with her doppelgänger. It quickly becomes clear: Marlene is Chris's unknown twin sister from Bavaria. What happened that caused the sisters to be separated? Why did they know nothing about each other? Chris and Marlene decide to get to the bottom of their East-West German family history.
