Luis Murschetz was born in 1936 in Wöllan, Lower Styria. After his education at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Graz, he lived for a long time in Rotterdam and London. In 1962 he moved to Munich, where he has lived and worked ever since. In 1971 he received the Schwabing Art Prize.
