On board a boat that is supposed to take him and other refugees to the West, Muzafari Subhdam shares his story. Once a high-ranking Peshmerga, he saved the life of the legendary Kurdish revolutionary leader when they were surrounded by regime troops. However, he ended up in captivity for 21 years, in the middle of the desert. Now free, he embarks on a journey through what has become of his country.
