The Precious Garland of Liberation is the oldest teaching text of Tibetan Buddhism, systematically and comprehensively describing the path to enlightenment. It was written by Gampopa (1079-1153), the most significant heart disciple of Milarepa. Even today, it is an indispensable foundational work for anyone who wishes to learn about and embark on this path. This third edition is a thoroughly revised version of the second edition. The translation has been refined, adapted to the evolving terminology, and enriched with additional footnotes. Cross-references have also been included to facilitate comparative private study. The glossary has been significantly expanded. In total, over 1700 changes have been made.
