Product details

Some people are tormented and bound by terrible thoughts. It is as if a goblin or a demon has them firmly in its grip: thoughts of murder, fantasies of abuse and rape, blasphemous phrases that they feel compelled to scream out loud. The suffering from these obsessive thoughts drives those affected to the brink of suicide because they believe that this is the only way to prevent these thoughts from turning into actions. However, the fear that this could happen is, in most cases, completely unfounded. The therapy involves not suppressing these thoughts—which only makes everything worse—but rather consciously and directly confronting them. Lee Baer offers a range of methods for how one can "tame" tormenting obsessive thoughts on their own, but he does not shy away from discussing the limitations of such self-help.
