Der kleine Gärtner

The daisy lives in the simple garden of the small gardener in the middle of daisies and bellflowers, between clover and dandelion. But now he does not like it there any more, because he has heard how magnificent the neighbouring garden is. There it goes! With a heavy heart the little gardener fulfils his wish one night and plants it over there. And so it wakes up the next morning on a strange lawn, is all alone, despised by the roses, lilies, and carnations, and is uprooted by the gardener, who thinks it is a weed, and thrown into the compost. It is already half thirsty when a nightingale carries it back in its beak. The little gardener lovingly plants it in the earth - now it is home again and happy.
