This biography provides well-founded insights into the childhood and youth of Adolf Hitler, which have often been overlooked, and also corrects many misconceptions about the roots of his worldview, to which Hitler himself contributed. Admittedly, there are many books on the subject of Hitler. However, few works have focused on the period in which the foundations of his worldview were established: childhood and youth. Author Dirk Bavendamm meticulously traces those years in the life of the future Führer and Chancellor, which were, like for any person, formative for his later life path. A look at Hitler's own accounts in Mein Kampf is not sufficient, as even in this autobiography of his early years, childhood and youth are either presented incompletely or idealized. Thus, the author begins his research.
