Blurb
To view the world with a healthy distance, to defuse reality with superior wit, and to transform despair into hope – this is the unique character of Jewish humor. The jokes compiled by Salcia Landmann mostly originate from Eastern Europe, from countries where the Jewish population was almost entirely annihilated by the Nazis. Thus, alongside enjoyable entertainment, reading this collection will evoke feelings of nostalgia and sorrow. This compilation is more than just a collection of amusing texts; it is the legacy of a vanished culture and way of life. Now available again – the complete edition. Over 3000 jokes: the most comprehensive German-language collection of Jewish jokes. Total print run since publication: over 1 million copies.
