A spy, a mission, two stories about it. Which one is true? September 1945. In the ruins of Berlin, two manuscripts are discovered, each presenting conflicting versions of the life of an Irish spy during the war. One is the diary of German military intelligence officer and Nazi opponent Adrian de Groot, who records his relationship with his agent, friend, and sometimes lover, an Irishman named Frank Pike. In de Groot's account, Pike is a charismatic IRA fighter released from a Spanish prison to assist in the planned German invasion of Britain, but he never gets the chance to fulfill his pact with the devil. The other manuscript offers a completely different portrayal of the Irishman's actions. Under the alias of the Celtic hero Finn McCool, Pike here emerges as the ultimate Allied saboteur. His mission: a campaign of assassination against high-ranking Nazi doctors, culminating in the murder of Hitler's personal physician. But which version, which reality is true?.
