The book contains the most important documents about the Catholic faith from the times of the Apostolic Creed to our days. But the aim here is not to accompany the truths of the faith through the two millennia of the Church's history and to present all dogmatic struggles and decisions, but to present in German reproduction those Church doctrinal documents which became of particular importance for the ecclesiastical formation of divine revelation. Systematic chapter introductions and historical notes place the documents in their historical context, as is necessary for a dogmatic understanding. They give the work the roundness and coherence that one expects from a good manual.
