Product details

The well-behaved German worries - recently even increasingly - about the health and mental state of his leaders. So it was hardly surprising that the report of the Führer's possibly missing testicles stormed the front page of the BILD newspaper. In his essays, Michael Klonovsky, "blogger-novelist" (New York Times) and attentive chronicler of the second German republic, by no means only analyses the mental state of people who immediately reach for a book with this title. The spectrum of observations collected here ranges from the decadence of Michel Houellebecq to the left-wing radicalism of Richard Wagner, from the question of whether Bach was an anti-Semite to director's theatre, from the praise of self-irony to Churchill. Michael Klonovsky, who gave birth in August 1962 and was born in Schlema in the Ore Mountains, lived in East Berlin without a trace of a career until the fall of the Berlin Wall. He became a journalist in 1990. From 1992 to 2016, he was editor, head of copywriting and head of the debate department at Focus magazine in Munich. Since then, he has worked tirelessly as a political consultant. Klonovsky writes novels, essays and the online diary Acta diurna. He is married to the Israeli pianist Elena Gurevich and lives in Munich.
