In sow farms, the pressure to perform better and better is increasing, otherwise farms are no longer profitable today. Profit margins are often very low, so it is important to perform at a certain level in order to compete. Since the ban on antibiotic performance enhancers, there has been growing interest in alternative methods, such as organic acids and secondary plant ingredients, which are designed to improve animal performance. Biomin has developed a product called Biotronic® Top3, which contains propionic acid, formic acid, acetic acid, cinnamaldehyde and Biomin® Per4izer®, and is already using it successfully in weaned piglets. However, the aim of this work was to determine whether this product is also effective in breeding sows. The exact results and effects achieved by this product in a field trial with breeding sows.
