The unit price stands between the remuneration based on effort and the flat rate. As a fundamental form of remuneration for construction services, it holds particular significance in the construction industry. This work examines the unit price from a legal and construction management perspective, from contract negotiation to contract execution. Special attention is given to the practically relevant processes of bid calculation and the formation of additional prices. The focus of the work is on private law, including private regulations, especially the SIA Standard 118. Certain questions in the pre-contractual relationship are also explored with regard to public procurement law. The work is aimed at construction professionals from the legal and construction practice who are confronted with the diverse legal issues related to unit prices.
