Just as Hagen Berensen and Fiorina Luccarelli are enjoying Elba's rugged beauty again, Fiorina's patient Lucia Santoro seems to have vanished without a trace. When her body is discovered, the police assume it was suicide. However, psychologist Fiorina has a nagging feeling, and she sets out to investigate. Meanwhile, Hagen is having trouble with his pool and a contractor who has gone AWOL. The former commissioner won't let that slide. In their inquiries, the duo uncovers a criminal network operating in the shadows of the island.

In their second case, the likable investigator duo of Hagen Berensen and Fiorina Luccarelli embarks once more on a private manhunt and gets drawn into a web of dark dealings in early summer Elba.
