Der Business Case für familienverantwortliches Management

Although awareness of the issues arising from conflicts in the workplace and at home is growing, organizations generally do little to address these problems and take appropriate action. Nevertheless, employers can derive valuable benefits from organizational policies and practices designed to facilitate the management of the work-family interface for their employees. This research presents the business case for family-responsive management. It spans eleven organizations across four sectors of the Nigerian economy and provides an interesting account of what can be easily done while still having a noticeably positive impact on personnel indicators and organizational performance. The study identifies the work-family policies most desired by employees as well as the main barriers to the introduction and implementation of work-family arrangements. Recommendations are made to raise public awareness and pave the way for a family-conscious employer.
