Berlin in the 1990s - after the fall of the Wall, a blind poet falls in love with the director of the blind association and eventually marries her. In his imagination, his wife is a beauty whom he equates with that of Helen in his poems. By chance, he overhears a conversation between two women who describe his wife as the ugliest in the world. A world of illusions collapses for him. He feels betrayed. After many wanderings into the depths of his soul, his path leads him to Weimar. The blind poet becomes a seer who has glimpsed the world behind the illusions. This novel certainly rivals the most exciting novels of our time and adds a poetic dimension that is rarely found in contemporary narrative literature.
