Product details

"The name 'The Blue Rider' was invented by us at the coffee table in the garden house in Sindelsdorf. We both loved blue, Marc - horses, I - riders. Thus, the name came about naturally." Wassily Kandinsky

In 1912, the artists Wassily Kandinsky and Franz Marc published the most significant manifesto for visual arts of the 20th century through Piper Verlag: the almanac "The Blue Rider." With its ideas on the pluralism of the avant-garde and the principle of international cooperation, it had a decisive influence on the development of modern art in Germany and Europe.
