Britain in the 5th century: After fierce wars between the tribes of the Britons and the Anglo-Saxons, the land lies in ruins. Axl and Beatrice have been a couple for many years. In their village, they are considered outsiders, and it is made clear to them that they are a burden to the community. So they leave their home, hoping to find their son, whom they have not seen in a long time. Their journey is filled with surprising encounters and dangers, and soon they sense that a change is looming in their land that will upset everything, even their relationship.
